BOSTON – Chris Compston ran his fastest 5K in the prestigious Boston Athletic Association 5K on a sunny Saturday.

Compston, the husband of Amy For Africa co-founder Amy Compston, ran a speedy 20:30 in the 5K to finish 461st out of 8,892 runners. That put him in the top five percent.

The American men’s 5K record (13:21) and American women’s 5K record (14:51) were both set on a great day for running. Chris also got to run with Team Hoyt, an unexpected honor for him.

Chris and Amy will begin training for the West Virginia Trilogy in October after returning home from Boston. Amy, of course, will be in Monday’s Boston Marathon – her fifth world marathon and third consecutive Boston Marathon.
