ASHLAND, Ky. – Christian radio station Walk FM in Cannonsburg recognized Amy Compston on Feb. 1 with its Difference Maker Award.
Compston, the co-founder and face behind the Amy For Africa mission, was surprised when Walk FM’s Derek Withrow made the announcement in front of Amy’s home church, Unity Baptist in Ashland.
Compston, 30, accepted the award and was promptly given a standing ovation by the congregation.
“I’m so unworthy but so thankful for the Walk FM Difference Maker Award,” she said. “I must praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s because of His love and grace I am able to even stand today.”
Withrow said Amy was the kind of person who should be recognized because of what she is doing in the community by sharing her testimony with anyone who will listen.
