ASHLAND, Ky. — A mother-daughter have decided to join with Team Amy For Africa.

Tabitha Coyer and her 10-year-old daughter Melanie will be wearing the AFA colors while participating in area events.

Tabitha has been a strong supporter of AFA through her beauty salon, Ambiance on Winchester Avenue in Ashland, which last year collected more than $5,000 for the organization in a one-day hair-a-thon. One of her stylists, Shannon Luther, was a part of the AFA team that went to Moyo, Uganda in May.

Tabitha describes Melanie “as a sweet, tender-hearted 10-year-old.  She enjoys walking/running 5k races. Mel wanted to join the team because she loves helping people and loves running.”

As for herself, she said it was an easy decision to partner with AFA because of all that has been accomplished and because “I love to run.”
