MOYO, UGANDA – There is much unrest in the Moyo area of Uganda after a border dispute with the South Sudanese, according to United Christian Expedition / Amy For Africa missionary Dr. Floyd Paris.

The conflict has led to much looting in Moyo, he said, even though the people have very little to steal.

Seventy homes have been burned, 16 are dead, 40 are in the hospital and a thousand have fled, said Paris, who is in Moyo.

Currently, there is a joint South Sudanese and Ugandan border patrol that seems to be helping the situation, Paris said.

Christians are being targeted by armed bands of looters from South Sudan and many from Moyo are fleeing by crossing the river into Adjumani.

Paris was arriving in the Moyo area to check on the five Penne Paris Schools that are sponsored by UCE and AFA.
